November 22: Nature Detectives Program at Jennings. 2 PM. Families are invited to become “nature detectives” at Jennings Environmental Education Center. Animals leave behind evidence as a result of their daily (or nightly) activities. Like detectives, we can read these clues to learn more about animals’ lives. After some brief indoor hints from Jennings’ staff about what to look for, teams of participants will move outdoors to investigate “crime scenes” and determine the perpetrators and motives for each offense. The Nature Detectives series is designed for families with children age six and older, as well as anyone who is a kid at heart. Children should be accompanied by a parent or other adult. Because space will be limited, pre-registration is required before November 16th. Participants should dress appropriately and prepare for an active, outdoor learning adventure. To register, or for additional information, call (724) 794-1090; or go to http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/Calendar/list.asp to register online.
