Head out with a friend and start your adventure at one of the numerous farmer’s markets scattered throughout the county where you’ll be sure to find some samples:

Saxonburg
Head to Curds & Molds Fromagerie and check out their full menu of every kind of cheese you can imagine such as Irish Whiskey Cheddar to Derby Sage. Visitors are able to try free samples of exotic cheeses together and keep track of their favorites by using a “Cheese Checklist”. This experience is something that’ll make you think you're on a vacation in Paris, but lucky for you this little excursion can be done in Saxonburg!
Batch is another great option with so many choices. Owners Meghan and Jessica create delicious recipes with locally grown ingredients. Gumbo-lay filled with kielbasa, shrimp, chicken and veggies is just one of the many recipes Batch has to offer.

Butler

Head over to Anna Marie's Winery & Cafe for one of their signature pizzas like the chicken bacon alfredo! Pair it with one of over 20 selections of wines! If you’re not sure what to pick, purchase the flight and pick five for $5 to continue your tasting day. A flight consists of five, one ounce portions of wine.
From a Saison Terroir (Saison brewed with locally harvested hops, maple syrup, cucumbers and crab apples) to an Ale of Eros (Brewed with oyster shells and orange blossom honey, fermented with pomegranate, cherry and figs) Butler Brew Works offers brewed beers you will love with unique flavor from locally used ingredients. They have a plethora of options to choose from so order a flight and you don’t have to pick from their extensive menu.
Reclamation Brewing Company offers locally hand-crafted beers, locally distilled spirits and craft cocktails. Their motto is “We're not beer snobs, we just think beer shouldn't be crap!”. Try a flight or sampler and you will be able to sample anything from a Bourbon Barrel Wheat to a Sahti.
Ever try a Bubs Blackberry? Or how about a Celtic Fire? Whether you love fruity wines or appreciate a fine red wine like Merlot, Rustic Acres Winery has a special wine for any and all wine connoisseurs no matter your expertise! Stop by and try a sample before you choose your next bottle of wine.
Winfield Winery offers sampling from a unique tasting bar carved by hand from a Pennsylvania Hemlock. You may sample their Pink Catawba, a Bronze Medal Winner at the 2008 Pennsylvania Farm Show, or their Cabernet Sauvignon a dry, dark red wine with a great flavor and oak finish. Either way, with their tasting room you won’t have to choose just one to try! And don’t forget, they have a location in Slippery Rock as well.
Harmony
Another unique sampling experience is The Enchanted Olive in Harmony. Here you will have the opportunity to try over 60 varieties of seasonal extra virgin olive oils as well as aged-balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy. You will get to learn the numerous health benefits their products offer and experience how delicious olive oil can be!
You never know what you’ll get to try at Penn Pantry. Salsa, pretzels, chips and syrup are just some of the many options available. They always have Bryner’s hot sauce as well as Miller’s mustard and snack sticks to try. Two to three times a year sample events are offered where they make some of their favorites and share with the community. Stop in and see when the next event is and be sure to try a free sample while you’re there!

Portersville
Nicolette's Tailor Shop & Specialty Gifts makes tea with essential oil for tastings as well as cookies made with Lavender, Wild Orange Fudge, etc. Nicolette is always creating something with essential oil for the sampling. Stop by as you never know what creation will be there to try!
Slippery Rock
North Country Brewery prides themselves in craft beer and offers everything from a Buck Snort Stout to a Station 33 Firehouse Red. Owner Bob McCafferty’s philosophy on beer is, “It should be something unique to the local community”. Stop by and try a flight so you can sample all the unique flavors the brewery creates. Every Friday, The North Country Canning Company offers Yappy Hour from 3-6 p.m. where you can bring your furry friend and enjoy $2 drafts. Another exciting event they offer is free tours every Saturday from 12-4 p.m. as well as $2 drafts.
