Built originally in Cranberry Township PA in 1860 along Glen Eden Road, the barn owned by the estate of Gene and Dee Graham, descendants of early settler of Cranberry Township, Matthew Graham, was slated to be sold as part of real estate development and was to be torn down.
The Grahams youngest daughter, Vicky Graham English and husband David English, with the family's blessing, decided to rescue the barn that had stood empty for 20 years and falling into a state of disrepair and have it moved to their farm In Forward Township, Butler County.
An access road into a ten acre field was created and a new poured foundation built to receive the barn that had been deconstructed by Amish crews in March of 2019 in preparation for the move and reconstruction which occcurred in December of 2019. The barn reconstruction , including the addition of a 90' deck and "milk-house" addition was finished in late 2023.
The barn, overlooking the fields and pond below it, sits on on rise that affords a stunning view of the hillsides surrounding it that create the Glen that morphs into a beautiful Eden with lush foliage that serves as the backdrop no matter what direction you look. The interior is an undeniable mix of industrial hay rake wheel LED lighting paired with the rustic hand hewn barn beams and light white pine siding, ceiling and T&G flooring of red pine. The plentiful wall perimeter sconce lighting and multi layered LED wheel lighting suspended from the 35 foot ceiling is stunning.
The main reception level is fully accessible as is the lower walk I level with bathrooms in each level. The main reception level open out onto a 90'x20' steel girded deck creating additional space that gives a Birds Eye view of the property and geography beyond.
The lower level was created for a cocktail reception that extends out onto a covered 90'x 20' patio to a manicured lawn just beyond for outdoor ceremonies and activities.
There is a large prep kitchen off of the main floor level in the new addition as well as a smaller prep kitchen on the lower level to service catering needs there .
