Slippery Rock Farmers Market is open on Saturdays, 9 AM - Noon, from mid-May into October.
The market features locally-grown/raised vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, beverages, honey, baked goods; also natural body care, jewelry, and other products handmade by local artisans.
Because the market aims to support local growers and makers, vendors sell only what they themselves grow or create. All produce is grown in our immediate area and is seasonal. Throughout the market season, there will be an ever-changing variety and quantity of offerings. During the summer you likely will find many varieties of fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits (as these mature and are ready for harvest), and perhaps plants for transplanting into gardens and landscape beds. Vendors also will offer a variety of fresh and preserved foods, including pasture-raised beef, pork, and bison; free-range chicken and eggs; jellies, jams, and relishes: cold-pressed juices; fresh flower bouquets and cut flower: bread, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods. Artists and crafters also bring their handmade wares, including body and bath products, jewelry, and decorative items. Local wines and spirits may appear at the market during the season, as well.
Sponsored by Slippery Rock Development, Inc., the market will continue into October, with the ending date to be determined.
