Overview
Volunteers are needed to help make Audubon’s Nature Reserves even more bird- and pollinator-friendly. Todd Nature Reserve, located in Sarver, is Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania's first reserve. It is part of Pennsylvania Audubon's Buffalo Valley Important Bird Area (IBA), as well as part of the Buffalo Creek Watershed Conservation Plan.
With 6 miles of hiking trails, abundant with the natural beauty of the forest, streams and a pond, the rugged landscape and rustic trails provide a welcome retreat from the highly manicured suburban world and we continue to work hard to manage invasive species on the site. Activities will include removing invasive species and replacing them with high wildlife-value native species.
Registration is required so that we can best plan for the day.
We will meet at the Todd Nature Reserve parking lot. Please wear sturdy, closed toed shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves are recommended. Bring water, bug spray, and dress for the weather. All materials for the volunteer work will be provided and all ages are welcome. Todd does not have facilites on site - you can stop at Buffalo Creek Nature Park (154 Monroe Road), located just 2 miles before Todd Nature Reserve, to use restrooms either before or after the volunteer event.
