Overview
Job Title: Ceramic Studio Team Member
Location: Steele's Brushes and Ceramics, Butler, Pa
Job Type: Part-Time (10-15 hours per week)
About Us:
Steele's Brushes and Ceramics is more than just an art studio—it's a place where creativity and community come together. We offer a laid-back, friendly environment where customers can express their artistic side through pottery painting, classes, and more. We're looking for a fun, self-motivated individual who can keep things running smoothly, whether it's a slow day or we're bustling with activity.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and upbeat team member who can handle a variety of tasks with a smile. You'll be part of a dynamic team that makes each visit to our studio a positive experience for every customer. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and weekdays, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. If you’ve ever worked as a waitress, you’ll find this job similar—except you’re working with paint instead of plates!
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and teach customers with a friendly, clear, and loud voice.
Educate customers about pottery painting and assist them with their creative projects.
Sweep, mop, and clean floors to maintain a tidy studio environment.
Dust and organize shelves to ensure the studio is welcoming and well-presented.
Problem-solve on the fly to assist customers and keep the studio running smoothly.
Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs, including boxes and gallon buckets of glaze, often up and down stairs.
Stay busy during slower times by completing a task list and preparing for busier periods.
Work efficiently on your feet for 5 to 9 hours at a time, often zooming around like a fast-paced waitress.
Follow directions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are completed.
Provide excellent customer service with kindness and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
A fun, upbeat, and friendly personality with a self-motivated work ethic.
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, mornings, and afternoons.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak loudly and clearly.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, similar to waitressing.
Willingness to take direction and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
A team player who works well with others and contributes to a positive work environment.
What We Offer:
A fun and creative work environment.
Flexible scheduling.
Opportunities to learn new skills in a unique art studio setting.
