Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau President Jack Cohen Named To Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro’s Transition Committee

ZELIENOPLE, PA (December 5, 2022) – Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau (BCTCB) President Jack Cohen has been named to Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro’s Transition Advisory Committee for Economic Development.

“It’s an honor to be selected to serve on Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro’s,” Cohen said. “With more than 20 years leading Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau and years in the hospitality industry, my experience will be valuable to the committee and help it reach its goals for the citizens of the Commonwealth.”

According to the Governor-Elect Josh Shapiro website, the advisory committee, which will be chaired by Matt Smith, President, Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, will consist of economic development policy experts, business and labor leaders, and rural stakeholders and will play a critical role in advising the Shapiro-Davis transition on creating an economy that works for everyone.

“The committee will review current policies and make recommendations about how to spur innovation, grow the economy, reduce taxes, cut burdensome regulations, embrace Pennsylvania’s role as an energy leader, support Pennsylvania’s rural communities, and create new opportunities for businesses and workers across the Commonwealth,’ read a release on the website.

Cohen, a native of Pittsburgh’s Stanton Heights neighborhood and a 30-year resident of Cranberry Township, Butler County, served as Board Chair of the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau when it was founded in 2001, and became President in 2003. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in the BCTCB’s growth, which has grown with an annual revenue of over $2 million.
