Butler County Event Recognized by National Sports Association
BUTLER COUNTY, PA (April 26, 2024) – Pennsylvania is making a name for itself in the sports tourism industry. In the 2023 Sports Events & Tourism Association State of the Industry Report, Pennsylvania was ranked #4 in the Top 10 list of states in terms of the economic impact generated by sports tourism in 2023.
The Top 10 States were as follows:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. California
4. Pennsylvania
5. Illinois
6. Ohio
7. New York
8. Tennessee
9. Georgia
10. Virginia
PA Sports hosted/supported over 460 events in 2023 alone, generating an estimated $480 MILLION in economic impact for the people and businesses of Pennsylvania.
Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau nominated Premier Ice Prospects Labor Day Girls Fest for Event or Program Impact of the Year at the SportsETA Symposium this week. The event, held at our state-of-the-art UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, was recognized as an awards finalist. Our sales manager Perry Latimer represented Butler County at the symposium.
