Demo Trucks Offering Incredible Riding Experiences Rolling Into Butler Bikes & BBQ
Something Offered For All Level Of Riders
When you’re daydreaming, maybe you envision yourself as Marlon Brando sitting on his Triumph in the movie “The Wild One.” Or maybe on Peter Fonda’s Captain America Harley-Davidson from “Easy Rider.” It could be seeing yourself on one of three bikes singer Pink owns.
However you imagine your motorcycle riding self, that dream could get closer to reality this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Butler Bikes & BBQ at the Butler Farm Show Grounds. That’s because Demo Trucks from Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycles, BMW Motorrad and Triumph Motorcycles will all be on hand.
“We’re very excited to be able to have these trucks at this year’s event,” said Amy Pack, Senior Director of Tourism Development. “There will be lots of new-to-the-market motorcycles, some demo rides, and even a stationary rider experience.”
New Castle Harley Davidson will present the Harley Demo Truck and 2022 models will be on display and attendees can sign up for demo rides. Additionally, there will be a tent loaded with Harley gear and dealer swag and those that take a demo will receive a swag bag with goodies.
If you’re just starting to ride and wondering what the rush feels like, you’ll want to check out the Harley-Davidson Jumpstart™ Rider Experience. This stationary rider experience allows you to sit on, start, shift (both up and down), and let the throttle out on a fully-functioning Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Don’t worry, you won’t crash through the rest of the show because the bike is completely secured.
Using two rollers under the rear wheel allows the bike to “reach” 65 mph, even though it will not move. No riding experience is required and a motorcycle license is not needed for The Jumpstart™ Experience.
Pitt Cycles, Purveyors of Distinctive Brands, will feature demo trucks from Indian Motorcycles, BMW Motorrad and Triumph Motorcycles. Pitt Cycles has pre-designated demo-ride routes and all brand and/or model availability and ride times will be available on a first come first serve basis with each demo truck.
“So plan to get there early to reserve your demo ride,” Pack said. “They’ll have staff and brand reps on site to answer any questions and schedule appointments if you are interested in buying a new bike.”
Pitt Cycles is providing the opportunity to win a gift basket full of motorcycle-related items – valued at more than $350 – with the winner drawn live on its facebook page on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Also, Jeff Stanton, a six-time AMA Cross Champ Motocross Champion and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, will lead four separate rides. Ride one is on Friday, ride two is Saturday 11 a.m., ride three is on Saturday, July 23 at 4 p.m., and ride four is on Sunday at 10 a.m. The ride will take you along the backroads of Northern Butler County.
For all demo rides from any manufacturer, you must be 18 years of age or older, bring your current and valid driver’s license, including a motorcycle endorsement, and not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. Once on site, you are required to show your license and sign waivers, when scheduling your ride at the manufacturers booth.
Additionally, all riders need to come with appropriate riding gear (pants, closed toe shoes, eye protection, helmets, etc.) for demo rides.
So, there you have it. If you have lots, some, little, or no biking experience, Butler Bikes & BBQ has something for you and your skill level. Maybe at next year’s event, you can pull into the Farm Show Grounds like The Fonz! Ayyyyyyy!
