Play In Our Parks
Moraine State Park, located in Portersville is a great place to start your outdoor fun! Moraine offers just about every outdoor activity you can think of: biking, boating, disc golf, fishing, geocaching, hiking, picnicking, swimming, windsurfing and more.
Jennings Environmental Education Center, located in Slippery Rock, is a unique combination of protected prairie and forest. Jennings is the only protected prairie in the state and also features the endangered Massasauga rattlesnake. Visitors can enjoy hikes year round on their 5-mile trail system, but perhaps the most popular time to visit is during July when the Blazing Star is in bloom.
Take A Hike
The North Country National Trail (NCT) runs through Moraine State Park and Jennings Environmental Education Center. This trail is about 4,600 miles, spans across seven states and is the only national trail to stretch from west to east.

Looking for that fresh summery taste? Over the course of the summer, there will be several opportunities to experience the taste of farm-fresh foods and entertainment. To grill up your own delicious eats, pick up some fresh local goods at nearby farmers' markets.
Sports
There are lots of different ways to enjoy sports in Butler County. Go golfing on nearly a dozen golf courses, all within a half hour’s drive of each other or check out the three championship Disc Golf Courses throughout the county.
